Catch the Mine Kafon Drone on Kickstarter

There is a new drone on the block, but it is not your every day or weekend drone you can use for your aerial photography hobby, nor is it for your budding drone photography services.

This drone, the Mine Kafon Drone, was developed by Massoud Hassani and his team, and he is crowdfunding it on Kickstarter.

The Mine Kafon Drone is an airborne demining system meant to clear the world of land mines in less than 10 years. The system uses a three step process to map, detect and detonate land mines.

Massoud Hassini‘s passion for developing such drone technology springs from the fact that he was born and grew up in Afghanistan where he experienced personally the dangers of land mines. He is the founder of Hassani Design BV and Mine Kafon creator.

The ongoing Kickstarter campaign for the Mine Kafon has 33 more days to go, ending on September 1, 2016.

So far, there have been 1,296 backers, and €48,065 pledged out of €70,000 goal. The rewards for backers come in different tiers. Those pledging €5 or more will get a personal message; a pledge of €12 or more will get a MFK bracelet.
